You’ve been in lockdown for nearly 4 months and are virtually unrecognisable from a prehistoric cave-dweller. Do not fear! With all fingers, toes and eyes crossed, beauty salons in England can open from the 12th April 2021 and weddings can resume again. Yay for us all. Your wedding hair and makeup, facial, eyebrow, pedicure or waxing appointment is just a finger click away. But wait! Instead of frenzying like a (beauty) junkie in need of their (lipstick) fix - see what I did there? Why not savour the moment? Elongate the process, take full advantage and turn it into an experience. Here are five awesome reasons why visiting my home salon in Aldershot will be an experience you will want to repeat again and again.

1.‘Haven away from home’.
Our homes have literally become our safe-houses yet the same four walls have become quite tiresome don’t you think? I have literally stared, beyond obsession, at the same crack on my office ceiling for months. It’s time to see the world from a different perspective and venture into new pastures. I know that that may seem a bit scary so it is important to go to places you can trust as safe. My beauty salon is a home salon which means that the only people who visit are invited, are known to me and pre-checked for Covid symptoms before arrival. You can rest assured there is no danger of unvetted strangers and the general public walking in off the street, increasing the number of people and possible cross-spread of germs. This next bit is necessary to say but stick around for the best is yet to come, I'll make it quick.
2. Private, safe and clean salon.
All of my appointments are separated by a 15 minute ‘clean’ window. This is when all beauty tools are placed into my sterilizing unit, all salon surfaces are disinfected as are the bathroom, stairwell and front door. If you arrive early for your appointment, please wait in your car until your appointment time. On arrival at my home salon, you will have your temperature taken and asked if you have displayed Covid symptoms. I know it all seems like a scene from ‘28 days Later’ but once it is done then you can truly rely on…
3. A fully immersive, relaxing sanctuary experience.
Soothing sounds and calming aromas will greet you and welcome you into the cosy space. Along with a hot cup of tea or refreshing cucumber water, breathe in and take a load off as you sink down into plush velvet seating or fleece bedding. Whether you visit for hair & makeup for an event, a soothing facial, beautiful gel nails or a spot of hair removal; my Edwardian-inspired salon was designed for your comfort, to be something completely different from the norm, a place where you can escape, forget about the rest of the world for a while, and fully immerse yourself in relaxation heaven. That was worth the wait wasn't it?
4. Your distraction-free zone.
Pop your phone on silent and revel in the peace without kids, pets or partners to steal your attention and energy. For this time is for you and don’t feel guilty about it! Even in the closest family units where everyone gets on like a ‘house on fire’ we all need a form of escapism. During the past several months that may have been restricted to catching up on Netflix before dinner, a quick walk in the park or snatching a bubble bath whilst everyone is downstairs. Now escapism got even better, literally you can escape the house and be off grid for a while, we can chat and put the world to rights or you can just sit in the corner, gently rocking and mumbling to yourself. I don’t mind either way, this time is meant for you. When you walk out the door you will feel and look like a new rested and restored woman.
5. Fully comprehensive choice of treatments and services.
When I was a mobile therapist/ makeup & hair artist, I always felt I couldn't quite provide the luxury experience I wanted my clients to have. Now my brides can visit me for their hair and makeup rehearsal and enjoy a vintage cream tea experience, bonding with their closest friends. This makes the rehearsal even more special, an exciting part of the run up to the wedding. My loyal beauty clientele now have a choice of Environ facials. With the help of my electro-sonic machine I can provide a range of treatments for all skin concerns that just wasn’t possible when mobile. You can touch, feel, trial and play (hygienically of course) with my cosmetic samples, just as you could in a department store or shop, but unlike a shop, knowing they are clean and safe to do so. Best of all you have my 25+ years of expertise and knowledge to draw from too.
I am so looking forward to seeing my clients in the flesh again. Lockdown has afforded me the time to build my new home beauty studio in Aldershot exactly how I dreamed it to be, and years before I ever thought it would be possible to achieve. So there is a silver lining to every cloud after all!
