No fear, I'm going to walk you through the process, (we don't have to hold hands if you don't want to) and by the end of it, we can do a happy dance together. My unofficial fairy godmother service as standard, which means I will be on hand all of the wedding day morning to help you into your dress, guide you through the wedding etiquette, standby with my SOS kit to solve any problems or issues that may arise. All you have to do is relax. Sound good?
Step 1. Prior to booking
I'm assuming you've been doing some research, and looked at a few hair and/ or makeup artist options.
From the off, let me say that I provide both hair and makeup. Why is that important? Firstly it tends to be cheaper for you to get one company to do both. It means I can accommodate small parties easily. I only have a minimum number of the bride and two other people. If you have a large group then I can provide more artists who are my responsibility and will be instructed on the looks that you have decided upon. And that means you only have to deal with one supplier not two.
Prior to booking all you need is a wedding date, a venue and the number of other people requiring hair and makeup on the wedding day. Don't worry if you don't have dress details or timings, that can all be decided later. I book out the morning exclusively for you so no-one else will get a look in. A £100 non-returnable deposit is all that is needed to secure your date. This will be deducted from your total balance.

Step 2. Hair and makeup rehearsal
I carry out a hair and makeup rehearsal at my Edwardian beauty studio in Aldershot, Hampshire as part of your package. Your wedding date is already securely booked out exclusively for you. The rehearsal can take place any time you are ready, once you know about yours and your bridesmaids gowns, flowers, headdress and details of the ceremony and where you would like to get ready. It is risk-free and gives you complete control and peace of mind that your date is safe and secure.
What makes the hair and makeup rehearsal so special?
This is the chance for us to really get to know each other and for you to get a feel for how the morning of your wedding will run.
I will ask you questions about your gown style and colour, your bridesmaids dresses, the hair and makeup you wear day-today. Tell me what ideas you have in mind for your wedding hair and makeup look and what headdress or veil you have. If you have collected images of different bridal looks, we will go through them together to work out what will be best for you.
Take a seat and relax in my elegant Edwardian-inspired beauty studio as we agree on your bridal hair and makeup with up to three guests of your choice. You’ll enjoy a delicious cream tea in my prettiest china as you chat through your ideas and inspiration. I’ll then take that information to create your look for your big day taking your dress, theme, headdress and so on into account.
We’ll work on your look until you’re completely satisfied. Then on the big day itself, your agreed look will be faithfully recreated for you.
Step 3. The wedding day
On the day of your wedding I will come to wherever you are getting ready, be it your home, a hotel or the reception venue.
Hair and makeup timings and/ or a schedule for the morning will be decided in advance, at your hair and makeup rehearsal. We take into account time for setting up, all hair and makeup applications for you and your attendants, getting dressed and taking photos, plus a bit of extra time for 'just in case'.
As a general rule, I like to do hair first and then makeup, leaving the bride towards the end. This a great time to get a good playlist going and open a bottle of bubbly, relax and drink in the happy, calm atmosphere.
Every bride who books my services gets my unofficial fairy godmother service on her big day included as standard. I’ll stay until you’re ready to leave and everyone looks their absolute best. I’ll be there to lend a calm and experienced hand with dressing, emergency repairs and etiquette advice. I can help you fasten those fiddly wedding dress buttons and position the corsages and buttonholes that shaky fingers can’t quite manage. I even make a smashing cup of tea to help calm any nerves and last-minute jitters (normally for the father or mother of the bride!).
This is me below, fastening the fiddly buttons. I have come across every possible dress type, and even had to sew the odd button or two (and a ripped hemline once)
Thank you also for all the extras you helped with - getting into my dress , sewing the zip on last minute, untying knots in my necklace, helping Em out with her bow, helping to put on dads buttonhole when his hands were shaking, helping me to sit comfortably in the horse and carriage, - gosh the list goes on but I truly felt so supported with your calm nature by my side throughout the preparations so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

FAQ's
Can I choose where I get ready?
Yes. Whether it be at your home, your reception venue or a separate hotel. I will come to you on the morning of your wedding day and stay to help you and your attendants get ready and prepared. I will leave as you are about to leave. Remember you have me booked exclusively for your wedding day morning, I won’t be running off and leaving you in the lurch.
Your rehearsal will take place at my home studio in Aldershot, Hampshire. On the wedding day I travel to you. I cover Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire with no extra cost for travel. West Sussex, Wiltshire, Dorset and London venues further afield may incur a travel cost
Why don't I have a hair and makeup trial?
A hair and makeup trial suggests that if you don’t like the look created with your hair and makeup artist then you waste time and money looking for someone else. If you do like the look they have created then unless you have the trial very early on in your wedding planning, you run the risk your artist may not be available on your wedding day. To cover themselves, they may take a few bookings for the same wedding date until the trials take place and the first person to confirm gets the date.
Wouldn't you like the security of knowing that your wedding date is securely booked and the guarantee that if there is something you don't like or are unsure of during your hair and makeup rehearsal, it will be amended until you are completely satisfied?

She suggested starting Pinterest boards of styles I liked so she could get to know me and what I liked. In this way, she managed to make the most beautiful custom hair piece for me. I could not have asked for a better make-up artist and hair stylist for my wedding!! Ema has the ability to read your personality, listen to your ideas and then translate it all into perfection! She doesn’t just do what you ask, she advises on how to achieve it in the best possible way, so it complements you, enhancing your best features and turning you into a dream bride. ‘From start to finish, I was so impressed and inspired by Ema's service. She truly listened to what my (very vague and unhelpful!) vision was, and managed to reflect that in the make-up she offered, the styles she used, and the guidance she gave. On the day itself, Ema was so reassuring and warm - it was like seeing an old friend at exactly the right time, though we had only met once before! I had wanted something natural and dewy, but with enough definition. Ema advised me carefully about what was important in order for the make-up and hair to last perfectly throughout the wedding day, without being too heavy. And indeed, everything did last perfectly all day! I only once or twice topped up my lipstick the whole time.
